The Buzzards Bay Film Festival is a celebration of Buzzards Bay, a 233-square mile estuary in Southeastern Massachusetts nestled between the mainland shore, western Cape Cod, and the Elizabeth Islands. The Buzzards Bay Film Festival will focus on the Bay, its watershed, and the 360,000
people who live in its surrounding towns and cities.

The Festival will take place on the evening of November 9, 2012 at the First Congregational Church, Falmouth, Massachusetts; the evening of November 10, at Gallery X, New Bedford, Massachusetts, and November 11 at the Zeiterion Theater in New Bedford.

The Festival will present films that have been shot in whole or part on the Bay or in its watershed, have the Bay as their subject, or promote the Bay’s preservation and restoration. The Festival welcomes narrative films, documentaries, animation, features, shorts and cellphone videos.

All proceeds from the Festival will be dedicated to the Buzzards Bay Coalition, a membership-supported nonprofit organization dedicated to the restoration, protection and sustainable use and enjoyment of Buzzards Bay and its watershed.

The FLICKERS: Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) discovers and

empowers filmmakers. Held in Providence, Newport and locations throughout

the state of Rhode Island, RIIFF is one of only a handful of festivals

The New Hampshire Film Festival (NHFF) takes place each fall the weekend after Columbus Day in Portsmouth, NH and celebrates its 12th anniversary in 2012. The 3rd Annual Filmshift Festival was created by independent filmmaker, Jeremy Jed Hammel, as a way to combine three of his passions: The
art of film, bringing people together, and giving back to charity in hislocal community.

Filmshift is held every year at the Somerville Theater in Somerville, MA. We present independent films of most genres and we have special Showcases
for local films, student films, and films that have a connection to Environmental or Sustainable topics.

Some films that we have presented in the past include “Earthwork,” starring Academy-Award nominee, John Hawke (for “Winter’s Bone,”) Comic Con 2010 winner, “Marwencol,” and “The Burning Season,” narrated by Hugh Jackman.

We offer a cash prize, awards from our sponsors, and superlative awards to our filmmakers.

Ten percent of our gross ticket sales are donated to Christopher’s Haven, a local charity that finds low-cost or no-cost housing for families staying in
Boston for their child’s cancer treatment.
