Our cover conveys how happy we are to shine a spotlight on Black Math, a design company that has found a home in the heart of Boston’s Chinatown.

Founders Evan Fellers and Jeremy Sahlman, (who actually wears a man bun from time to time) took one and one half years to find theirlocation. They also took it to heart and decided they would stretch outside of the norm and build out their new location in a most unique manner. Their next work would be building out their new 8,000 sq. ft. space. Evan and Jeremy added “As a production studio in a field that’s changing every day, we are always striving to find the best answer to any problem – starting over, building things from scratch, reinventing the wheel because we need a better (or better-looking) wheel.”

According to Jeremy, “When it came to our new home, we needed furniture that was flexible, looked beautiful, and wasn’t ridiculously expensive. “We built our space with the fluidity of Opendesk in mind, knowing that ultimately we’d never be beholden to a limited selection. We’re a growing company, so it’s important that we can always get another desk or chair to match our existing set-up. Key word: growing.

Our cover photo and all our Black Math photos were captured by Courtney Perkins. Our Cover Design is by IMAGINE’s Design Editor Monique Walton.
